Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Around 2,000 US Jobs – News
Paramount Skydance will begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are expected, with the company aiming to announce complete information during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates had indicated that Paramount planned to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.
As of December 2024, Paramount employed nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
